Into the Lives of the Rich and Famous

So many stars nowadays are no strangers to losing large amounts of money for…various reasons. Overspending to keep a luxurious lifestyle. Lawsuits. Investments that didn’t really go anywhere or failed completely.

Musicians like 50 Cent ended up going bankrupt and losing millions of dollars. Even Nicholas Cage, known for his roles in movies such as Ghost Rider and National Treasure, found himself declaring bankruptcy as well. It’s really a shame because they are indeed very talented people.

Let’s take a look at other celebrities who have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to finances.

Nicolas Cage

I briefly referred to a few of Nicolas Cage’s movie roles, such as him playing the hot-headed protagonist in Ghost Rider as well as its sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

But while he was busy burning criminals alive in those films, Cage was really burning through money in real life. Money can really pile on, and over the course of 15 years, the actor managed to blow through his $150 million fortune.

You Win Some, You Lose… A Lot

Cage did have some issues with the IRS and as punishment for not paying his taxes, he was forced to pay more than $6 million!

The actor had to sell some of his belongings in order to pay the tax debt, including a comic book that he valued greatly. As a fellow comic book lover, I feel Cage’s pain!

Michael Jackson

Okay, does Michael really need an introduction? Well, for those of you that have been living under a rock, Michael Jackson is known as the King of Pop and has retained the title even after his death.

I bet most of you were already humming “Billie Jean” or “Beat It” the moment I mentioned his name!

More Money, More Problems

But even the king was not exempt from the numerous financial problems other celebrities have faced. With the many lawsuits Michael had to deal with and the loans he supposedly took out and didn’t pay back, of course he was going to get into some trouble!

Despite this, Michael Jackson is still loved by many today and I’m sure his music will withstand the test of time
