The second world war hit not only Europe but also the whole world in a terrible way. In 1939, the German army attacked the neighboring country Poland, and started to rule over it. Władysław, played by the half-Jew-half-Polish Adrian Brody, tries to do everything to save his own life, meanwhile the Germans taking over Poland. Adrian Brody plays big in this movie, his torture and suffering make a strong impression in viewers. This unbelievable story (directed by Polanski) helps us to realize how terrible and unkind the second world war was.
